Herder Tent / Spike Tent
Originally called the “sheep herder tent” this tent sets up with little effort. The shape of the roof holds the heat down to you where it does the most good. It is constructed from a breathable (will not condensate) 100% cotton fabric with a mildew and water repellent treatment. These are 10×10 made from Sunforger 10.10oz Water/Mildew treated canvas, and have 30″ tall walls.
Tent weight without floor is approximately 35lbs
Tent weight with sewn in floor is approximately 40lbs
Comes standard with sod cloth, zippered door, stove jack, ropes and stakes.
Remove Moisture Before Storing
You should always remove moisture from your tent prior to storing the tent after your usage. This is because moisture will inevitably gather on your tent in the form of snow, rain, morning dew and natural condensation. Spread out the tent in an indoor garage or shed until the canvas and sod cloth is completely dry. This usually takes approximately 48-72 hours. Setting up ladders or other elevated items in the area and spreading the tent out over the top can sometimes expedite the drying process. Once the canvas is completely dry you can now roll the tent and store it away until your next trip. Storing a wet or damp tent, despite being treated for mold or mildew resistance, can still develop mold.
