What is Glamping?

Glamping is short for Glamourous Camping.  This type of "camping" has been practiced for 100's of years by royalty and the elite. Recently glamping has gaining popularity a vacation option for all travelers.  Glamping is offered by upscale resorts, bed and breakfasts; you can also rent a glamping tent at mountain camps and hot springs.  Glamping is used by some for special occasions such as weddings or anniversaries.

A glamping tent is a high quality canvas wall tent usually permanently built on a wooden deck.  It is the interior of the tent that makes glamping special. The centerpiece of the room is the bed.  Typically when you go camping, you sleep on an air mattress.   When you go glamping you sleep in a cozy bed.  In a Glamping tent you can also expect air conditioning units, electric heater, framed doorways, windows, furniture, fine carpets,  tiled or hardwood floors, chandeliers, full length mirror, and wet bar.

Glamping is perfect for those seeking the peace and serenity of nature but wish to retain as many modern amenities as possible. Upscale camping combines a vacation in the  great outdoors with a luxury resort experience to provide what many satisfied glampers agree is the best of both worlds.
