About our Glamping Tents

Fabric

100% cotton is the preferred canvas for tents – WHY 100% COTTON? Breathability! The reason breathability is so important is to minimize and eliminate condensation. Just 4 people in a tent produce 2 liters of condensation from their breath in one night! Add to that other elements that put moisture into the air – boiling water, heating with propane, drying your clothing, etc. – and you create a wet interior. Properly treated cotton allows this moisture to escape through the tent, keeping you warm and dry.

Treatment

Canvas treatments have become a critical factor differentiating a high quality from a lesser quality tent.   Quality treatment will help extend the longevity of the tent.  Sunforger™ has been the leader in the fabric treatment industry for more than 50 years because of its ability to retain the canvas’ natural ability to breathe without contributing to the fabric’s disintegration.  However, high UV environments require Sun Pro™ material.

Interior Space Upgrades

Screen Door – Improve the quality of the indoor space by increasing the tent’s ventilation.

Additional Windows – Another simple way improve the guests’ experience is to add additional windows to the tent.

Elevated Fly (optional but recommended)

A structurally elevated lift of the tent’s protective fly is a highly recommended upgrade to a glamping tent.

  • Provides better protection of the tent – the space between the fly and the tent allows air to circulate so the fabric dries out quicker and mildew cannot grow on the tent.
  • Improves the quality of the interior space – the space between the fly and tent creates a dead space that keeps the tent cooler in the summer and mitigates wind-noise.
  • An elevated fly greatly improves the visual aesthetic of a glamping tent.

Glamping Decks (optional but recommended)

A glamping deck will greatly enhance your guest’s experience and will likely increase the rate that can be charged for nightly accommodations.  The ambiance inside the tent is noticeably more refined and the sitting area outside the tent far more charming when a deck is added.  Davis Tent doesn’t build decks, but we have partnered with a deck builder that can provide a perfect solution to match your property and brand.
