Purchased in 2020. Overall, I’ve not slept on a better, more durable cot. It’s a bit on the heavy side for transport, but it’s quite comfy when set up.

  2. Bib Boy Cot is the Best

I did a ton of research on the tents and was ready to order but circumstances changed but I did end up buying the Big Boy Cot sleep combination and I just love how comfortable it is. I took a nap on it without the mattress and it was great. Even better with the mattress. My cats love it too!

  3. My ticket back to the great outdoors

This is a cot and pad that will allow me to get back into camping and hunting. At 54 with lower back issues and a wife with severe RA, I had given up on a bed that would work until this. The cot supports my back enough to allow me a full nights sleep, and is tall enough my wife has no issues “climbing up out of a camp bed”. It is sturdy (my two dogs 40 lbs each decided I needed help trying it out) and easy for me to manage.

I bought this hoping it would work with the back up plan of a quick bed for my granddaughter if she slept over. I will need a second one now for my wife and eventually a tent to go with as we wear out our older one.

Could Use More Thought Into Product

    Jack

Instructions – A piece of paper does not last long out in the wild. Mine got really wet. Paint the instructions on the underside of the canvas for the cot, it would last longer and be easier to interpret.

Cot Legs – They just fall off all the time is you move the cot. Bailing twine will hold them on but there are a lot of different cheap ways to fix this. Davis Tent could set themselves apart with this by adding cot leveling adjustments to the legs to help adjust for floor or ground slopes.

Cot Carry Bag – Zipper is on the underside, the zipper is plastic. I don’t think this will work in the long run. I would rather see a carrying bag that would better fit in a pannier

Cot Sleeping Pad – Much more comfortable then expected but it could use a carry bag.

The cot is great once you get the legs attached and the cot in place. The canvas stretched a bit but not much (160lbs) over a week at elk camp. Two 27 gallon totes fit under it nicely with room to spare. It is a good buy considering most of the other cots I have used.

    CAMPING COT PACKAGE - Arrived

    jkuhn12 (verified owner)

The “Davis Camping Cot Package” arrived today! If, you’re reading this, you can quickly scroll-up and see what is included in ‘Package’.

After a quick parts inventory, I set the Cot up for the first time. Everything fits well and it goes together easily. Instructions are included. My first time, it took a couple of tries to get everything positioned correctly and while holding my tongue just right – Voilà! Assembling it in an empty 10’x 10′ canvas tent should be a breeze.

The Big Boy Cot and the Organizer are a deep forest green, very attractive.

I’m a pretty big guy, 6 ft. and 240# (-+). So, I wanted something I can trust. I’ve had things fold-up under me. And, so far, I’m very impressed with the overall build quality of the ‘Package’.

The ‘HD Foam Pad’ is a great addition! I’m SO glad I went ahead and spent the additional money! It’s almost as comfortable as my Memory Foam Mattress. When I unrolled the Foam Pad, after a few minutes it had expanded to easily 3″ thick. It comes in a zippered cover made of a synthetic material and it has two (2) long bed-roll style straps and sturdy buckles attached. The Davis folks make the straps extra-long so; you can roll-up your sleeping bag/system with the HD Foam Pad.

Be advised, it adds to the already portly circumference of the HD Foam Pad.

A camping trip in ‘2018 was my motivation to conclude I needed better equipment. Also, I decided at 63, (going on 64’2018) crawling on all fours to get into and out of my Eureka 3-Man Dome tent was not dignified for a man of my advanced age. The Davis ‘Big Boy Cot and HD Foam Pad Package’ should eliminate any sleeping issues I might have otherwise had.

I like the product. I am not affiliated with Davis Awning in any manner. I’m just a satisfied customer.

At 64 years old, I may not be ‘Glamping’. But, I am certainly ‘Gramping’. Heh, heh!
