They work as a pack saddle pannier for your sawbuck or Decker, or right over your western riding saddle. These panniers are SUPER tough and are resistant to mildew and rot, unlike canvas. This is without a doubt the best bag out there. Has adjustable loops (see additional photo). 3 Top straps which really help hold the load up and in place. (see additional photo) Notice the “v” on the side which has a d-ring sewn in at the top, great for lashing down your top load or works extremely well with our top pack as show. (top pack sold separately)

Size is approximately 20″ tall x 8″ wide x 32″ long * Note: in these photos we have a Coleman 48 quart cooler in each bag with room to spare.

I’m so happy I’ve found your site. I bought these bags in Idaho about 15 years ago and thought they were no longer made. I’m a moderate weekend hunter, wanna be packer. We pack in the back country over 250 miles each year. I have canvas, aluminum, hard plastic panniers as well manties and these are the only panniers that get 250 miles in each year while the others get left at home. They are easy to use and accommodate a small day trip load or can be expanded to packing in and out an elk camp. I’m guessing they have over 3,000 miles on them and they are extremely durable, they don’t rot or dent. they are so durable My guess is if they could be bearproof if I could figure out a way to close the top at night. The only negative is they aren’t as sexy as a manty tied to a decker for a photo shoot, but since I don’t have Hollywood looks I find the ease of use is the reason these are the first bags out of the tack room.
