Wall Tent Flooring Options

Floors are a great way to keep you and your gear dirt free and dry if you set up on wet ground, as well as keeping bugs, rodents, other nuisances from within your tent. We make our tent flooring from a vinyl coated rip stop nylon to offer absolute water protection and abrasion/puncture resistance. Wall tent floors can be made as a loose/detached piece (our preference) or sewn into the bottom of your Davis Tent (only on Traditional Pole frames), and can be made as a Full Floor, Full Floor with a Stove Mat, and a ¾ floor.

Loose/detached floors can be used with Traditional Poles or Internal Frames. They set up easier, clean easier, are easier to replace if damaged and can be used in other instances as a tarp. For these reasons, the loose/detached tent flooring is far and away our #1 choice. Our floors are made specific to your tent so that you will not be left a few inches short, or be with unnecessary excess material to manage. A loose/detached wall tent floor would lay on top of the sod cloth that is standard on your Davis Tent, and the legs of the frame or uprights from the traditional poles hold it securely in place.

Sewn in Floors can only be used with the Traditional Poles, and cannot be made as a ¾ floor. Sewn in tent flooring offers the best piece of mind in keeping outside things outside of your Wall Tent, but come with some drawbacks that we think outweigh that benefit. A sewn in floor will add about 25% more weight and bulk to your Davis Tent, and cleaning will require the Wall Tent to be set up.

The Full Floor would cover the interior footprint of your canvas wall tent edge to edge and corner to corner. If you will always be cold camping without a stove and want complete coverage, this would be the proper choice.

The Full Floor with a Stove Mat has the same coverage as the Full Wall Tent Floor, but has Mat where the wood burning stove would sit. . This tent flooring allows safe use of the wood burning tent stove, while retaining as much footprint coverage as possible.

The ¾ floor is designed to provide tent flooring to the back ¾ of your Wall Tent, and leave the front ¼ area as bare ground. This bare ground space allows safe use of a camp stove, as well as a “mud room” area for boots, wet clothes, firewood, etc. The ¾ floor can only be made as a loose/detached piece.
