Description
Our Decker Pack Saddle is a decker tree with improvements to the saddle in order to keep the pannier straps on without the need of decker hooks. We use roller buckles instead of the traditional “conway” buckle so adjustments are easy. 1-1/4″ rigging straps, 1″ quarter straps, 3/4″ spyder with four hip drops. The quarter straps keep the single cinch back and in place (away from front legs) excellent for top packing. Comes complete with half breed.
This is the pack saddle we recommend if you are primarily using one pack animal. This pack saddle can be custom fit to any high weathered or barrel chested animal.
*Please note, we have further improved on our Decker Pack Saddle so that the steel cross members are flatter across the top and have a pronounced outward bend on the sides. This has eliminated the need for the welded on elbows as the older version of cross members were round and not bent outward. The video shows the older style with the welded on elbows.
